Team#1 got the jump on Bundoora Comets A to hold the lead for almost the first half but then faded out with just the 7 players in the team. Fantastic shooting by the Boro goalers wasn’t enough to keep pace and an 11 goal loss resulted.
A fabulous start by Team#2 surprised the top team and hot favourites Heidelberg Tigers, who then worked their way back into the game after quarter time. Smart defensive work grabbing 11 intercepts, limited the loss to 13 goals.
Team#3 had a solid performance for the first 3-quarters to trail Thomastown A by just a few goals, but then Boro form became a bit patchy. The turnovers increased but a strong fight back at times in the second half almost leveled the scores. Team#3s defensive pressure tapered off in the last quarter so the game ended in a 10 goal loss.
Team#4 had a narrow lead for the first half against Lakeside 2 but lost form in the 3rd quarter. That opened the door for Lakeside 2 who then established a 3 goal lead. Poor passing didn’t help much close to half time. A big resurgence by Team#4 in the last quarter almost leveled the scores, but it couldn’t be sustained to eventually lose by 4 goals.
Team#5 needed to knock over 2nd top team Keon Park Stars to continue climbing into the top four. Team#5 served it up from the starting whistle slamming on first 10 goals of the game. Keon Park came back strongly in the 2nd quarter but Boro stepped it up again in the second half to run away with the game in solid percentage boosting 19 goal win. Go Boro !!!
In a game of two halves, Team#6 was slow to get going and let Reservoir go out to a 12 goal half time lead courtesy of some ordinary passing. Boro picked up the work rate dramatically in the second half and returned to their true form. But it wasn’t enough to close the gap and they lost by 5 goals.
