A tough Round 4 brought mixed results of 2 wins, 2 losses & a draw. With a regular shooter & defender unavailable, Team#1 struggled to keep pace with North Heidelberg A after a very even 1st quarter, but lifted in the last quarter to limit the loss to just 10 goals.
Team#2 on top of the ladder & undefeated, played against 2nd position North Heidelberg B. Set to be the clash of the round, Team#2 gave up a 2 goal lead in the 1st quarter & trailed by 3 at times in the 2nd & 3rd. A tremendous fight back in the closing moments clinched a 26-26 draw with both teams shooting extremely accurately.
Team#3 played undefeated St Mary’s A, 3rd & 2nd on the ladder, but fell off the pace by quarter time to trail for the rest of the game. Team#3 fought hard to get back within 6 goals but did well to lose by just 12.
Second on the ladder Team#4 missing a key shooter, played Fitzroy Stars A who are 4th. A low scoring 1st quarter for both teams (2-3) but then our shooters began working well & solid defence everywhere gave us the edge to run out winners by 7 goals.
Team#5 currently bottom of the ladder & yet to win, played against highly fancied Fitzroy Stars C who were 2nd. Team#5 stepped up to the task in an enthralling game where the lead changed 6 times & only 3 goals ever separated the teams. Players stood up to the pressure across the court and worked extra hard to deliver the ball to our goalers so that Team#5 could storm home with 6 of the last 7 goals and win by 3 in a massive upset!
