Football, Greensborough v Montmorency.

Seniors – What a great start to the season. We were confidant going into Saturday’s game and the boys played a game style that excited everyone who came along to watch. Our onballers were ferocious at the contest, our forwards provided highlights with some great marking and the backmen played tight.

Reserves – A real gutsy win. Things looked very bleak at quarter time and even worse at half time. Not sure what happened at the main break but it was like a new team came out in the second half.

U/19 -It was a high class game of football and both sides played very well. A number of players had excellent games but we were unable to get over the line.
This week – We take on Eltham and Robert has had the boys fully focussed on the games importance. We are still hurting from being beaten by them last year but with a new found belief the boys are going to prove extremely hard to hold out.

Social notes – As today’s game in on Good Friday we will have a couple of beers and then enjoy the remainder of Easter. Our opening function starts the week after with the Beach Party.

Around the Club – It is great to see some old faces have joined the ranks to help out on Game day in various roles and duties. Alan Baird, Russell Dickson, Chris Beadles, Dez Leahy, Steve Ellis and his older brother John all wanting to play a part in the Boro resurgence. Every one of the aforementioned forged mediocre careers with the mighty Boro and each will bring a level of football smarts and savvy to their respective groups. What level has yet to be determined?
