Frustrating for different reasons as the team gelled late in the year to become a potentially prominent team in the division. Again injuries were a factor with some long term injuries to players and fill in’s having to come into the team to replace key positions.
After a slow beginning to the year the team found its niche and really began to push the top teams, two highlights were a draw with second placed North Heidelberg (with no bench) and a win over third placed Bundoora as our team began to gel. Wins began to flow as we were able to turn the tables in our final game against our Greensborough sisters and recording a win to end the season on a high, only four wins out of finals contention. The team looks to be well placed to continue pushing for a finals berth in season 2015 with some continued hard work over the off season.
After initially starting the season in division four for the first four games, GNC team 3 was regraded into division five for round five. The team finished in 7th place (of nine teams) and played 16 games, five wins, nine losses, two draws and two byes. Of the nine losses, three of those were by under six goals and the two draws were to St Mary’s in division four and second placed North Heidelberg in division five.
I would like to thank the players for their efforts throughout the year as I’ve enjoyed getting to know them better throughout the year.
Good luck girls I had loads of fun.
Alan Watson, Head Coach 2014.
In a weekend that saw the Aussie Diamonds retain their number 1 World Ranking and winning the Commonwealth Games Gold Medal, Boro had some tough matches to get through with a number of key players unavailable.
Team 1 lined up against the very dominant Fitzroy Stars and came away with a loss, team 2 had a tough match against Lalor and lost by 1 goal in the dying minutes. Team 3 had one last roll of the dice with only 7 players and lost by 6 goals to Mernda, Team 4 had the bye this round and Team 5 had a 26 goal smashing over Hurstbridge.
With only three rounds to go before finals, teams 2, 4 and 5 are in the hunt for September glory.

The Greensborough Division one netball team this year had a new coach as well as five new players. The first half of the season was really focused on getting to know each other and how we play, as well as our strengths and weaknesses on court. We have won five games and lost eight for the season. Our most recent win however, was 53-38 against Eltham! With a win this coming Friday against Fitzroy Stars, we are still in with a chance to make finals. Our team has really clicked lately so this would seem a fitting reward for all the hard work. Go Boro!!!
From the Captain, Sarah VN
From the Preso, Nicole Doherty.
