2015 NNL Section Four Grand Final – Boro v Lalor

Greensborough 3Last Friday night at Parade College, Greensborough 3 took on Whittlesea 3 in the section four preliminary final and won 34-28 in a tightly contested game.

Boro finished second on the ladder after the completion of the 2015 regular season and Whittlesea finished fourth. The first round of finals saw Boro take on first placed Lalor who proved to be too strong and won the game 34-17. Whittlesea took on third placed Epping and had a strong win, 40 to 25.

This coming Friday night at Parade College, Greensborough 3 takes on Lalor in the Grand Final, our line up:

2015 NNL Finals

Congrats to the boys who finished first in the NFL division one seniors, reserves and under 19’s at the completion of their home and away season.

Last Friday saw the netballers finish off the 2015 home and away season and kick off finals for team 4. Boro has never had 75% of our teams make finals before, this is a huge testament to our fantastic players and wonderful coaches. Final standings:

Boro 1 – finished third in section one
Boro 2 – finished sixth in section two
Boro 3 – finished second in section four
Boro 4 – finished second in section seven

Boro game times for this Friday night, all games at RMIT:

  • Greensborough 1 v Lakeside 1, 7pm
  • Greensborough 2 – BYE
  • Greensborough 3 v Epping 1, 7pm
  • Greensborough 4 v Epping 2, 7.50pm

Greensborough 1 are currently sitting in third position of the section one ladder.  Greensborough 3 are sitting top of the section four ladder and Greensborough 4 are top of the section seven ladder.

Only five games to go till NNL season 2015 finals.

NNL Round 8 results

We are well into the NNL season and Boro played four games last Friday night and won all four. The ladders:

  • Greensborough 1 in second place in section 1
  • Greensborough 2 in fourth place in section 2
  • Greensborough 3 in second place in section 4
  • Greensborough 4 in first place in section 7

This coming Friday night is the inter-league game v Southern Football Netball League at Parade College from 7pm. Boro has one coach and five representative players (out of a squad of 20).

NNL Round 8

Boro game times for this week, Round 8:

  • Greensborough 1 v Fitzroy Stars 1, 7pm Parade
  • Greensborough 2 v Bundoora Comets 2, 8.40pm Parade
  • Greensborough 3 v Northcote Park 2, 7.15pm Morang South Primary
  • Greensborough 4 v St Martins Wasps, 9.30pm Parade

Round 7 wrap.

Greensborough 1 had a tough game against West Preston Lakeside FC that resulted in a rare section 1 draw at RMIT.

Greensborough 4 played Whittlesea Football & Netball Club at Morang South Primary and after a fairly even first half, stormed home with a solid 31-22 win.

Greensborough 3 played the 9.45pm match against Whittlesea. Last time these teams met the game resulted in a draw – 23 all. In round 7 however, Boro kept working in a higher scoring game and took the win, 33-28.

Greensborough 2 had the bye in round seven.

Ladders and Boro teams are:

  • Section 1 – third
  • Section 2 – fifth
  • Section 4 – second
  • Section 7 – first

NNL Round Four Results

The four grading rounds of the Northern Netball League​ is now complete.

Last Friday night proved to be Boro’s toughest with only our section four team having a win.  Greensborough 3 fought off a big comeback from Watsonia 2 to win the game by three goals at Morang South.

The current ladders:

  • Greensborough 1 is second on the section one ladder with 104%
  • Greensborough 2 is fourth on the section two ladder with 152%
  • Greensborough 3 is fourth on the section four ladder with 98%
  • Greensborough 4 is third on the section seven ladder with 127%

A great start to the season but still plenty of work to do.

Seeking additional players for the 2015 NNL Season

The Greensborough Netball Club are seeking additional players for the 2015 NNL Season which commences on Friday 10th April.

We are looking for a midcourt player of a section one or A grade level.

And/or a defender or midcourt player of a section two or B grade level.

GNC trains every Wednesday night at St Helena Secondary College in Eltham North, 8pm to 9.30pm and games are played from 7pm on Friday nights at Parade College, RMIT Bundoora, Loyola College and Morang South Primary school.

GNC would like to thank Kyabram Football Netball Club for a hosting our Practice Match weekend. It was great to play outdoors for a change and in 29 degree sunny weather! We would also like to thank our friends at the Moama Riverside Tourist Park for yet again housing us.

GNC takes on Bundoora this Friday night at Parade College from 7pm for round 2 of 3 of our praccy matches.

The 2015 NNL Season commences Friday 10th April. Not long to go now…
